Change is in the Air!
I am beyond excited to write and let you know about the changes to my original Substack page. I have not written in a good long while as I went through some significant changes in my life. Now that the dust has settled I am so excited to share my heart for this going forward!
I have changed the name and the direction of this publication. I began writing the original pages through the encouragement of a friend who is dear to me. I have a passion for natural health and helping others. I wrote a few pages but I found myself feeling that this was not my path . I have been studying and experimenting with natural healing methods since the 1980’s and have seen many changes over the years. It is still a passion however I believe that these days there are many great people you can follow that have far more knowledge than I.
For the last year I have been pondering the direction of this publication. My greatest passion in life is to encourage others. It is as natural to me as breathing. I believe this is how the Creator made me. To walk alongside you and others with encouragement, wisdom and love. My happiest moments are when you find a glimpse of how truly cherished and unique each one of you are!
So I have changed the name to “Cherished”. Going forward I will publish stories, allegories and many times pictures to uplift, support and encourage you.
Here is a sample of what’s to come!
He Loves the Process!
Years ago I had a habit of finding items while walking and then asking the Lord to show me something from what I found. It was like a fun game we played that He used to encourage me, teach me and delight me all at the same time!
One day while walking I found a tangled mess of jewelry thrown out on the road.
It seemed worthless and without beauty.
I took it home and began untangling it. Some of it was trash that had gotten tangled up in the mess. There were some broken bits of necklaces. And there were wonderful little discoveries; a seahorse, a shiny diamond-like jewel, and a key with a heart shape.
I had a lot of fun untangling the mess. After I had it all apart I looked to see what to keep and what didn’t belong. I threw out the broken chains and the childish pieces and I put something new together to keep as a reminder.
What the Lord showed me in this process is that this is an amazing picture of how He is with us. He sees beauty in the very places in us that we don’t like to show anyone. Those places where we feel like an ugly mess. He doesn’t leave us there abandoned on the road. He gently picks us up and smiles. He untangles our life and frees us from the stuff that doesn’t belong. He gets rid of the trash that got tangled, the broken pieces, and the childish pieces that don’t fit. He makes us into something new and beautiful.
The absolute mind blowing part of this is that He doesn’t mind the time it takes. Even if it is years. And then this:
He loves the process, it is His delight.
You are cherished.
