Welcome!
The journey begins...
Welcome to “A Sozo Journey”!
In case you are wondering about the title “A Sozo Journey” please allow me to explain. You may or may not have heard of the Greek word “sozo”. It is often used in the New Testament of the bible. It is translated as “save, to be saved, to be made well, to be whole” and more. To summarize “sozo” means to be made completely whole. Emotionally, physically and spiritually. I believe the path to wholeness should encompass all three. Sozo is a place of freedom in wholeness that I hope we all achieve. However for this publication I will be focusing on natural healing.
My dear friend Mary suggested that I begin sharing in written form what I have learned about natural remedies or natural support for good health. She knows that I love to explore what God has provided for us in nature to facilitate our well-being. My heart comes fully alive when I get to use what I have learned to help people feel better!
To give you some background I have had a passion for all things living since a very young age. It’s hilarious to think of now but I can remember patching up various lizards and other wildlife caught by my kitty with a little antibiotic ointment and tiny band-aids more than once. I have always had a passion to come alongside to help with healing!
In the 7th grade I had a wonderful teacher named Mr. Galloway who opened my eyes to the wonders of biology and other sciences. This started me on a journey of discovery that has lasted a lifetime.
About 32 years ago I began to focus that passion for biology and other sciences towards natural health and healing. I was much like a starving person who has been seated at a banquet table full of culinary delights. I could not get my fill and always wanted more!
Along the way I have read countless books, went to many seminars, sat at the feet of several experts and studied the science behind “natural medicine”. Over the years I have studied the ever changing schools of thought regarding a healthy diet. I’ve studied and experimented with countless types of cleanses and health fasts. And last but not least I have also been my own “guinea pig” for various natural remedies. I will be sharing some of those fun stories in later posts!
So that is a little bit about who I am and why I am here sharing with you in “A Sozo Journey”. In closing I will leave you with a few fun facts that make me smile.
Ever notice how certain vegetables resemble parts of our bodies?
Take cauliflower for instance. It closely resembles the brain in appearance. Cauliflower contains both lecithin and choline which are both great for brain health!
Then there are tomatoes. If you slice open a tomato it has the appearance of four chambers much like our heart. Tomatoes contain lycopene and potatssium which are both good for heart health!
And lastly what about carrots? When sliced the inner part resembles the iris of our eyes. Carrots contain lutein, beta-carotene, vitamins A, K, C, Zinc & Omega 3’s and more. Again great for eye health!
Sometimes the natural medicine folklore was based on scientific information that had not yet been discovered. Personally I think our Creator was giving us some hints!
Thank you for visiting with me in “A Sozo Journey”! I look forward to engaging with you as you walk the path to wholeness.
Donna
I am known as “SingtoIam” on Social Media. I chose that name because I love to sing to my Creator (“I Am” referenced in scripture).
